SOC ALBUM AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD OCT 31ST, ON PHYSICAL CD NOV 22!
The debut album from Sound of Cancer (the collaborative music project of recording artists, Alexx Calise and Dennis Morehouse) will be released to all major online music media outlets including iTunes and Amazon MP3 on Oct 31st, and will be made available on CD Nov 22nd. Called "No Vampires in Gilroy", the album was written and recorded over a period of 3 years, in between Calise and Morehouse's rigorous touring/recording schedules.
Formed over 3 years ago by Calise and Morehouse, who had worked together on the song, "In My Pocket" for an independent film of the same name, Sound of Cancer (named after the band's zodiac signs) incorporates elaborate choral harmonies with dysphoric distortion, ominous soundscapes and deeply introspective lyrics reminiscent of rock 'n' roll stalwarts Pink Floyd, Electric Light Orchestra, Portishead, and The Cure. "No Vampires" is a concept album deeply rooted in existentialism, and chronicles the demise of the human spirit.
